Functional
  • Item Uploads Page: Over the years, the tech team had piled on requested functions on top of another and created the most complicated product upload pages. The learning curve for our vendors were steep – especially since LAShowroom.com is a wholesale site and the amount of products uploaded per vendor is by the thousands. There are no CSV or bulk upload methods other than the images so although the system is robust, a good amount of manual input is needed.
  • Advertisement Booking System: Although the advertisement scheduling and posting is done in this system, because it isn’t optimized for specific types of advertisement available, internal staff had to manually go in and finish the bookings for Vendors.
  • Categorizing: Each storefront had an option to categorize their items but could not do it themselves. Our Account Managers had to go in and manually change the categories.

Solution

  • Redesign: UI Overhaul
  • Personalized Vendor Dashboard with Analytics: Unlike the current admin where traffic analytics is nested, I created a proper dashboard on the admin with personalized order snapshot and shop data.
  • CSV Uploads: I created a CSV Uploads area where vendors can easily upload thousands of products, sku’s, product information and their corresponding multiple images. 
  • Advertisement Management: Revisited the overall advertisement point system with the Business Analyst to simply the advertisement methods and minimizing free giveaways. Also creating lesser advertisement spots to induce competition. 
  • Store Categorization: Creating a Category request section in the admin so that our vendors can communicate directly from the admin page to reduce the amount of time our Account Managers spend on the phone and manually inputting them for our vendors.
